(physical theater ensemble, est. 2011)
Broken Box Mime Theater (BKBX) is a collaborative theater company that performs original, contemporary short plays entirely through movement. Based in NYC, our mission is to activate the imaginations of our audiences, contemporize the art of mime, and remind us all of the power of simple storytelling. We were recipients of the 2014 New York Innovative Theater Award for Outstanding Ensemble, as well as the 2016 NY IT Awards for Outstanding Performance Art, and Outstanding Choreography and Movement.
As a founding member of BKBX, I’ve written and performed with the company since we started. Our shows have appeared at: A.R.T. / NY, HERE, Dixon Place, The Wild Project, The PIT, and many more. On television, we’ve most recently appeared on VICELAND‘s Untitled Action Bronson Show, and a local FOX 5 segment about a recent show.
Through our education programs, I’ve led workshops for professional performers, as well as youth at The 52nd Street Project, ASTEP, R.Evolución Latina, and in the NYC public school system.
